Cajun & Creole Lunch Cooking Class in New Orleans

During this 2 hr event, guests will learn about the history of Cajun & Creole cuisine. Our chef will discuss the techniques, cultures, and ingredients that make this dish special. Guests will have the opportunity to ask our chef anything! The meal is served on disposable dishware and our chef will bring all the ingredients and cooking equipment.

Menu/Experience:

  • Chicken & Andouille Gumbo
  • Creamy Grits
  • Crepes
  • Sauce Flambe

 

Cajun & Creole Lunch & Dinner classes start 11am, 12pm or 2pm.  Additional fees apply for evening events. 

What's Included:

THE EXPERIENCE

The 2-hour interactive dining experience has a laidback, intimate atmosphere spiked with southern hospitality and Louisiana cuisine.

THE ART OF ROUX

Learn the art of roux and the perfect roux for different Cajun and Creole dishes. Be fearless and test your skills to take it just far enough to reach perfection.

CAJUN & CREOLE HISTORY

Learn the history of Cajun and Creole cuisine, the cultures that influence it and the dishes we cherish. Talk about what to eat and order while you’re in town.

FLAMBE

The event ends with our chef demonstrating a flambé. There may be a ghost story or two if you are interested.

FUN WITH CREPES

Tilt & swirl a classic French crepe – flip it in the air and hopefully catch it in the pan. If they do, we cheer! If it hits the floor, we may cheer louder.

RECIPES & MORE

Premium electronic recipe packet, disposable dishware, cooking equipment and more will be provided. Dietary restriction substitution is Creole Maque Choux
